There ain’t no party like a tepenyaki party! I have forgotten how much fun a trip to Doncaster with friends and a spot of BYO at a local tepenyaki spot to catch our dinner can be!!
Yamagata is a big space, ideal for a bit of fun and a few friends, the menu offers set price banquet options or select from a wide range of sushi, sashimi and tepenyaki dishes.
Before we get distracted with all the games we get our order in for the Fuji Set Menu which delivers a massive meat-tastic banquet of;

Miso Steak
Lamb Cutlet (60g)

Japanese Fried Rices
Japanese Tea or Vanilla Ice-Cream
Just $60/person – bring it on!
Chicken skewer was succulent. tender and delicious – good start!
Amazing and fresh, as it should be, plenty of omega 3 and lots of lovely wasabi.
Calvin, our tepenyaki master gets started on the many meats and a bit of the fun, catching eggs in a little bowl can be challenging! Note to self – do not wear things that you don’t want raw egg on!!
The meats start coming and it is all delicious, succulent steak with miso and a mustard sauce, charred lamb cutlet and lovely, lovely duck!
Amongst all the lovely meats are egg catching, omelette and bowl catching including a trip to the car park for a ‘go long’ throw!! Our guy at the grill is great, fun and plenty of cute jokes and damn good food!
There is way too much meat for me, its a relief when the veggies and rice turn up and I chat up the lady to swop my vanilla ice cream for red bean YES!!
Incredibly full and very happy we head off with happy memories and relief that Calvin didn’t set himself on fire!
