As it gets Hot Hot Hot (allegedly!!) January 2017 looks like a scorcher for fun in Melbourne! This month we will mostly be doing…..
Things to do in January 2017

Go crazy with a French inspired menu by Hotel Gitan matched with Laurent Perrier champagne plus a whole lot more of all things, how you say – Francais!?

2) Moonlight and Rooftop Cinemas Jan – April 2017
Always a perfect idea for a night out in summer, unless the weather gods frown on your terrible taste in movies!! With locations at Botanical Gardens or Curtain House there are plenty of choices of where to go and what to see.
Moonlight Cinema at Botanical Gardens catch Doctor Strange or Arrival and don’t forget to BYO your dinner. Maybe cheese and crackers and a dip or two or I am usually jealous of the clever ones who turn up with 4 boxes of Crust pizza!!

The Rooftop Cinema at Curtain House is an old fave, grab a deckchair and sick back and relax with the fabulous Melbourne skyline behind. Selling fast but you can still grab tickets to Nocturnal Animals, Beetlejuice or Rogue One. Click here for more
Food is a plentiful on the roof with burgers from The Burger Shack or fill up on your way up with Cookie, Toff or Mesa Verde.
3. The Australia Open 16th – 29th Jan 2017
Always a guarantee for the seriously hot weather as poor (but very well compensated) tennis players battle it out in 40 degree heat until the early hours of the morning. Grab a cheapie grounds pass to soak up the experience or go hard with tickets to the finals costing around $199.
Whilst you are there you can pick up refreshments from official sponsors Jacobs Creek, as well as eats from Estelle, Cucina Di Casa, Sea Grill. Billie Chu and plenty of slightly quicker and fried options!! You also get to catch a few of the local acts with Missy Higgins, Birds of Tokyo, The Temper Trap, Peking Duk to name but a few!

Perhaps even better, if you can’t get into the Open, the AO Festival returns again this year, taking over Birrarung marr, Canadian Club bring you the perfect sunny hangout to laze in the sun with the big screens and food from Hotel Jesus, Huxtaburger, Jimmy Grants, Tokyo Tina as well as the food truck park.
